Trigold to show direct products despite lack of broker desire

Just 19% of brokers stated that they would like direct products displayed although 33% do plan to include direct products in the advice process in the future. This is the third such survey from Trigold who promised after last years survey to keep a watching brief and court regular feedback from users.

David Aylmer, business development and marketing director at Trigold commented; “This result clearly shows that the majority of brokers only want to source products from those available to intermediaries. However, we are now aware that a proportion of brokers would like to be able to review direct deals for research purposes. With 7 out of 10 brokers using Trigold we feel we have a responsibility to provide the tools that all our users require and adapt to an ever changing market place.

“In terms of display, we were also made aware by our users how important it is that the displaying of direct products is not the default view but brokers can instead select to add these to the source results screen at their choosing for research purposes. We will be building the system on this basis and we expect to release it to our users as a part of a range of product enhancements by the end of the first quarter of this year.

“The only people shouting about direct products and seemingly desperate to keep this topic high profile appear to be those with a sales agenda which brokers are clearly seeing through. Now that brokers have the power to research both direct and intermediary deals on the UK’s leading sourcing system, we believe that brokers can get on with the job in hand which is helping their clients find the most appropriate mortgage for their needs.”
