TMB launches new sales platform

The Sales Platform will enable TMB to offer an enhanced service to intermediaries whilst enabling the business to meet its ambitious growth plans.

TMB is developing its specialist, dedicated centre in Chester to process new TMB mortgage applications, handling administration up to completion. There will be a phased two-stage introduction process starting from September 2003 continuing through into 2004.

The state of the art new system will offer several key benefits to introducers and their clients, initially visible through a faster turnaround of cases. The second stage of the implementation will involve online applications in principles (AIPs), the convenience of case tracking and compliance with the forthcoming FSA regulation.

Due to its excellent understanding of the market, levels of service and specialist product range, TMB has grown rapidly over the past few years. New mortgage advances for TMB in 2002 totalled £3.5 billion, up from £2 billion in 2001. This new system forms a key part in TMB's strategic growth and will allow it to continue to write increasing amounts of new business whilst maintaining and enhancing the excellent service levels for which TMB is renowned.

Bill Dudgeon, Managing Director at The Mortgage Business, said: "Our existing systems have served us well but are approaching 20 years old and don't enable us to manage markets peaks as well as we and our business partners would like. In recent years our lack of sophisticated technology has constrained our growth. Consequently, new technology is a must. We are building for the future and expect business growth to continue, presenting us with fantastic opportunities to increase market share. This new technology will allow TMB to grow, ensure compliance with impending legislation and offer our customers the benefits of an even better and faster service which will be particularly evident during peak volume months as we're seeing now. TMB, as a Halifax and Bank of Scotland Group company, is benefiting from the advanced technology of its large parent group which we have used as a base on which to build our own bespoke systems solution. TMB will remain dedicated to providing an excellent and personal service to its customer base."
