Tipton & Coseley names new CEO

Tipton & Coseley Building Society has officially announced the appointment of Adam Evetts (pictured left) as its new chief executive.

In a statement released today, the mutual confirmed that Richard Newton (pictured right) will step down as CEO at the end of the year, following the initial announcement in June.

Newton has been chief executive of Tipton & Coseley for a decade, with a total of 32 years of service with the building society.

Evetts, currently the risk and compliance director, brings with him over 27 years of experience in the building society sector. His background includes roles at two top-10 societies, with a proven track record in successfully developing, leading, and managing teams. He joined Tipton & Coseley in 2020.

“It’s an honour and privilege to be appointed to succeed Richard as chief executive,” Evetts stated. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be leading the society at such an exciting time.

“The mutual model is as relevant now as it has ever been in our 122-year history, and I’m committed to making sure we continue to focus on providing value to our members and supporting our local communities.”
