The Right Mortgage joins the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries

The Right Mortgage and Protection Network has announced that it has joined the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI).

As a result, appointed representatives of The Right Mortgage are now entitled to access the trade body’s newsletter, as well as regular updates on legal and regulatory issues that impact the mortgage market. They will also gain access to the AMI website, which includes factsheets and technical guidance, plus industry viewpoints on protection and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Right Mortgage said that it will not be passing this cost on to members, which means members will enjoy AMI membership at no additional cost to their business.

Rob Sinclair, chief executive of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, said they were pleased to welcome The Right Mortgage and Protection Network to the association.

“With the challenges facing the industry it is critical that AMI has the sector behind it and is able to listen to all voices. As we confront the green agenda and changes to the appointed representative regime, we look forward to working together to ensure balanced decisions,” Sinclair noted.

The trade body, which aims to protect and promote the commercial interests of its members firms, said that its core role is to lobby and campaign on behalf of the intermediary and ensure they are aware of change that is impending.

Ben Allen, compliance director at The Right Mortgage Network, remarked that being part of a trade body such as AMI adds to the network’s credibility and enhances its proposition.

“It also offers us the chance to increase engagement with the regulator,” Allen added.

“I have long admired the work that Rob Sinclair and everyone at AMI are doing. They really understand the challenges mortgage intermediaries are facing and provide an excellent platform, along with necessary support, to meet and overcome these.”
