The Nottingham hires head of underwriting

Nottingham Building Society has appointed Maxine Davenport (pictured) as head of underwriting, a move poised to strengthen the organisation’s leadership as it broadens its mortgage services.

Davenport brings over two decades of experience in mortgage underwriting, product lifecycle management, and operational risk control to her new role. Her background includes expertise in specialist residential underwriting, credit risk governance, financial crime, and internal audit – skills expected to support the mutual’s goal of expanding its homeowner support services.

Previously, Davenport served as product and business manager at Aldermore Bank, where she held several key roles including head of underwriting and senior operations manager. Before Aldermore, she developed her underwriting expertise at The Cooperative Bank.
