Stonebridge expands team with new head of sales

Mortgage and insurance network Stonebridge has announced the addition of John Scrivens (pictured) to its senior management team as the new head of sales.                                                        

Scrivens brings with him over 25 years of experience in financial services, having worked in banks and building societies, primarily in the mortgage intermediary sector. His career includes roles in business development and leadership, managing telephony and field teams.

He joins Stonebridge from Skipton Building Society, where he served for eight years, holding the position of intermediary development and leadership regional manager in his most recent role.

At Stonebridge – named Mortgage Network of the Year in the 2023 Mortgage Introducer Awards, Scrivens will spearhead the strategy aimed at supporting firms in boosting their income, with additional responsibilities for overseeing investments in the related financial services businesses co-owned by the group.

Reporting directly to chief executive Rob Clifford, Scrivens will also focus on generating new income for member firms and exploring ways to maximise opportunities within the network, both existing and prospective.

“It’s a real positive to be able to expand our leadership team with the appointment of John to lead income growth,” Clifford said. “This exciting new appointment gives us additional senior management capacity and provides both the network and our member firms with a highly experienced individual who brings a wealth of insight and knowledge, as well as a proven track record of driving commercial success.

Commenting on his appointment, Scrivens said he was delighted to be joining Stonebridge and to start working with its entire team and its member firms.

“Having spent the last 15 years working in the intermediary sector and over 25 years in financial services, I have a real understanding of the challenges firms face, and also the opportunities available, particularly through a network such as Stonebridge,” he added.

“My aim is to ensure all our members make the most of those opportunities, to provide them with a wealth of information and insight into what is available to them, and what it can mean to their businesses to access these products and services.

“Stonebridge is a market-leader and one which I know has significant ambitions for the future – I’m aiming to play a full part in helping deliver for all stakeholders.”
