Solicitor becomes first to qualify as Certified Financial Planner

Peter is a partner at Clarke Willmott and heads up their wealth management team, specialising in inheritance tax planning, trusts and retirement planning.

This qualification follows on from Peter Nellist’s last achievement, that of winning Money Management’s ‘Financial Planner of the Year Award 2003’. There are only 392 Certified Financial Planner Professionals in the country, usually IFAs and accountants.

The qualification was run by the Institute of Financial Planning of which Peter will now become a full member. Peter is also a Member of the Society of Financial Advisers, a membership he gains by virtue of the number of exams he has passed.

Peter says “This qualification will enable Clarke Willmott to improve the service it offers to clients as we will better understand their needs”.

Peter says that he will not use this qualification to compete with IFAs, but instead work more closely with them for the benefit of their mutual clients.
