Skipton enhances customer services team

In his new role as head of customer services, keen fisherman Nigel – who was previously development manager – will be responsible for every area of the Society that deals with customers, including the contact centre, mortgage and investment administration and customer relations.

Nigel is keen to reel in as much feedback as possible, so all customers are invited to drop him a line with any comments they may have.

Previously, Nigel worked for Burnley and Woolwich building societies before taking the bait and joining Skipton in 1989 as manager at Newark branch. He then spent five years as manager of the Society’s Sheffield branch and a year at Leeds, before becoming a regional manager in 1995 and later development manager of retail mortgages.

Nigel was born in Skipton but has lived in several locations across Yorkshire before coming back in 1995. When not working, he enjoys fishing and railway modelling. Nigel has three teenage children, Charlotte, 19, Ryan, 17 and Daniel 15.

Commenting on his new appointment, Nigel said, “Having spent all my working life in the building society sector I was delighted to join Skipton in 1989 – it is a fantastic employer and has supported me personally, as well as professionally, throughout my career. I am now in the privileged position of looking after the day-to-day needs of nearly 600,000 customers, which I will treat as a huge honour. Customer feedback is hugely important to me in my new role so if you catch me in the supermarket or on the high street, please stop me - your view of our service matters.''
