Skipton appoints new regional manager

In his new role, Tony will be responsible for the performance of nine branches, stretching from Sutton Coldfield to Plymouth.

Tony joins the Society from Bradford & Bingley where he was area sales manager for the bank's agencies in the South. He has a wealth of experience following 18 years in the financial industry. He started his career with Barclays in 1987 and, after 10 years and a number of roles, took up his first management position as branch manager for Portman Building Society in Bristol. He also spent 18 months with HSBC as a financial planning manager before joining Bradford & Bingley in 2000.

Commenting on his new appointment, Tony said, "I am delighted to have the opportunity to work for such an innovative organisation. I am looking forward to using the skills I have developed over the last two decades to continue the excellent level of customer service already offered in the South West branches."

Tony is from Cheltenham and lives there with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, DIY and gardening.

Andrew Lay, head of branch operations, added, "Our regional managers play an important part in running an efficient network for our 80 branches across the UK, helping them share information and successes that benefit the whole Society. I'm really pleased that Tony will be joining us to head our branches in the South West."
