Skipton appoints new non-executive director

Prior to joining Skipton, Sandy was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers until July 2002, where she specialised in Financial Services consulting (Investment Banking and Retail Financial Services). She has been head of the firm's European Performance Improvement practice and also a financial services risk management partner.

Commenting on her appointment, Richard Robinson, chairman of Skipton Building Society, said, "On behalf of the other directors, I am delighted to welcome Ms Kinney on to the Board. Her wealth of experience in financial services in the accounting and consulting profession and her proven skills in risk management will further strengthen the Society's board."

Ms Kinney added, "I am joining the Board of Skipton at a time when the retail financial services sector is facing unprecedented challenges, both from regulatory and accounting perspectives. It is in this context that I believe I can make a contribution to Skipton's continued success as one of the most progressive and successful societies."
