Shawbrook has appointed Simon Featherstone as managing director of the group’s business finance division, incorporating the bank’s asset finance and business credit businesses.
Featherstone was managing director of independent SME finance specialist Bibby Financial Services, while before that he was Lloyds TSB’s managing director of commercial finance, network director of Lloyds TSB commercial banking and chief executive and chairman of The Agricultural Mortgage Corporation Bank.
Steve Pateman, Shawbrook’s chief executive, said: “Simon has an excellent track record in SME lending and a keen focus on customers and I am delighted he is joining Shawbrook.
“Increasingly business customers want a holistic approach to lending and Simon will help us to bring our asset finance, invoice finance and wholesale finance offerings together to build out a broader SME financing proposition to meet this demand.”
In the role of managing director of business finance Featherstone will be responsible for asset finance, invoice finance and wholesale finance.
He will look to build on Shawbrook’s SME financing business which operates from six regional centres.
