Sesame Bankhall to withdraw Trigold Prospector funding

Hundreds of appointed representative firms will now either face annual charges for using Trigold or be forced to migrate to Mortgage Brain.

Sesame Bankhall will only fund The Key from Mortgage Brain after 14 June.

A spokesman for Sesame said: “Sesame has a strong commitment to provide our members with market-leading technology support and we are pleased to have secured a new long-term agreement with Mortgage Brain.

“Given our group’s long-term commitment to users of The Key, we will no longer be funding Trigold Prospector beyond 14th June 2012.

“However our members can still use Trigold if they wish and they will experience the same quality of service as they currently receive, with the integration with The Key maintained, and Sesame exclusives available as they are today.”

Sesame has put an adviser support programme in place to assist any advisers who would like help with migrating to The Key.

Dean Mason, principal at Mason’s Financial Planning, a Sesame AR, said: “It’s a bit strange that at a time when brokers need as many options as possible to write business a network would take away the flexibility that might throw up a product enabling them to do a deal rather than not.

“As far as I’m aware the other major networks offer the choice and it would be nice to keep that.”

But John Malone, managing director of Sesame PMS, said: “I’ve found most networks and ARs tend to favour Mortgage Brain. The DA sector has been very supportive of Trigold. It might sound like a generalisation but it’s definitely the way the market has operated for years and years.”

Mortgage Brain declined to comment.
