Sesame announces first lenders to join proposition

The UK’s two biggest lenders will form an integral part of one of the mortgage propositions that Sesame is currently finalising and will enable its 6,000 customers to benefit from an exclusive mortgage package that will include enhanced procuration fees, technical support and priority service. Sesame is announcing the launch of its mortgage network to its members at regional events around the UK over the next six weeks.

Martin Davis, Commercial Director for Sesame said: “We believe the regulation of mortgages and general insurance will herald huge changes in the industry with excellent business potential for advisers who seize the opportunity. Our partnership with the UK’s two biggest lenders demonstrates our commitment to delivering tangible benefits for our Members by leveraging our size and scale in the market. It also sends a clear message of intent to the rest of the industry and sets the benchmark for other companies to follow. We are looking forward to working closely with Abbey and HBOS and will be rolling out further initiatives in the near future.”

Ambrose McGinn, Director, Abbey for Intermediaries commented: "Regulation is transforming the mortgage market and smart businesses are striking alliances with like-minded organisations. The Sesame proposition fits perfectly with ours across mortgage, protection and wealth management and its structure and ethos complements our own beautifully. We are delighted to be a strategic partner, bringing marketing and promotional support, training and technology as well as leading procuration fees to Sesame members."

Grenville Turner, Chief Executive IF and External Sales HBOS, commented: "Working with key partners, like Sesame, whose reputation for quality and transparency mirrors our own approach, is core to our proposition in the intermediary mortgage market. The Sesame network has enabled us to develop for mortgage intermediaries an exclusive offering across our five mortgage brands - Halifax, IF, Birmingham Midshires, Bank of Scotland and TMB - along with Halifax General Insurance and Clerical Medical."
