Scottish Building Society has appointed Stephen Brown as head of intermediaries.

Brown has almost two decades of experience in the financial industry. He was one of the first Internet mortgage brokers, according to the building society.

He joins from Clydesdale Bank where he was an intermediary business development manager. He has also spent time at MoneyQuest as a senior technical manager.

Brown added: “I am delighted to be joining The Scottish Building Society.

“Having spent nearly a decade as a mortgage broker myself I feel that at my core I have an understanding of what brokers require and what they place value in. This is something that I will not lose sight of.”
