Santander to poach Nationwide manager for top role

Tony Prestedge chief relationships and distribution officer at Nationwide is expected to become deputy chief executive of Santander UK, according to Sky News.

Prestedge would replace Nathan Bostock who is currently chief executive of Santander UK.

An official announcement of this change is expected to be made to the London Stock Exchange on 10 March, says Sky News.

It is projected that Bostock, who has been in charge of the bank since 2014, will move to another role within Santander’s international operations.

Furthermore, it is predicted that Baroness Vadera, the former Labour minister and chairman of Santander is set to leave Santander this year in order to chair Prudential, the FTSE-100 insurer, as reported by Sky News.

Last year, Santander noted a pre-tax profit decline of 37%.
