Rooftop changes business model

Jonathan Naylor is executive director in charge of the new division, which will be appointed as servicer for all of Rooftop’s future transactions.

For Rooftop’s most recent securitisation, Mansard 2006-1, the company has been named servicer and is using its new special servicing division to handle arrears collections, loss mitigation, litigation and property sales. Sub-servicer Crown Mortgage Management is undertaking primary servicing including non-arrears collections, deeds management, accounting and customer care.

“Rooftop has grown considerably since its launch in 2003, and developing our own servicing capabilities is the next step in our expansion,” said Ginny Darrow, Rooftop’s Chief Executive Officer. “Servicing the loans we have originated provides us with a key element in our vertically integrated platform. Jonathan is the perfect choice to develop and expand the business. He has been involved in the development of Rooftop from the beginning and has tremendous expertise in asset sales, recoveries and property management.”

Mr. Naylor has served in various executive roles at Rooftop since 2003, most recently the managing director of Rooftop’s lending business while developing plans for the company’s loss mitigation and default management group. He is also an executive director of Rooftop’s Board of Directors.

“This is an exciting time in Rooftop’s history, and I am looking forward to spearheading the creation and development of the special servicing unit,” Mr. Naylor said. “Servicing capability is an important part of our overall strategy for the success of Rooftop and I am pleased to be working more closely with our sub-servicing partners.”
