PTFS appoints head of sales development

Walton joins PTFS with 22 years’ experience in business development and training, most recently as a national account manager at Aegon UK.

Prior to his three years at Aegon, Walton spent 12 years at Legal & General in a variety of sales roles, where he consistently exceeded targets and worked closely with a variety of financial services networks.

His new role will see him spearheading PTFS’s regional presence and growth, following the network’s announcement earlier this month that it intends to move from an outsourced regional model to a 10-region, employed model. Walton will head up a team of 10 regional managers, who are currently being recruited by PTFS in order to begin operating its new structure from early 2011.

Dev Malle, sales and marketing director at PTFS, said: “Andy’s appointment is a landmark step in our regional development plans, and will be fundamental in ensuring a smooth transition to our new model and delivering our future growth strategy.

“PTFS has worked with Andy on a corporate level for a number of years, and we know from experience that he is the perfect candidate to assist us in building the most supportive and values-driven financial services community in the industry. We couldn’t be happier with his decision to join us.”

Walton added: “This is a very exciting time for PTFS and I am delighted to be joining to head up the reinvigorated regional sales structure. This is a significant piece of work, but will be made easier by the fact that I have worked with the firm and the majority of its advisers for many years.

“I look forward to getting started and to ensuring that we deliver a true customer-focused sales approach. Our adviser community is looking for technical support, sales training and consultancy as we head into a period of significant change for the industry, and this new team will deliver exactly that.”
