Preferred appoints new directors

Roger Taylor, formerly head of sales, has been promoted to director of sales and marketing and Nigel Ingram, formerly chief operating officer, has been appointed director of operations. Both of these appointments are with immediate effect.

Webster said he had left Preferred after being approached by another firm but declined to name the company in question. It is rumoured he is to join Essex-based specialist lender Swift Advances.

Patellis leaves later this year to return to America with his family. Ingram commented: “We look forward to building on the success Preferred has experienced under John and George’s leadership – we wish them both all the best for the future.”

Taylor has worked in the mortgage industry for over 35 years and was one of four founders of Preferred nearly ten years ago. Since then he has held several sales roles at the company. Prior to Preferred, Taylor worked for Ashdown Commercial Limited for seven years and at a credit finance company on the South Coast for 16 years.

Ingram joined Preferred as chief operating officer at the beginning of 2005 and is said to have been instrumental in shaping the company’s plans for future growth. His previous experience includes roles at Portman Building Society, KPMG Consulting, MasterCard, PA Consulting and eight years at NatWest.

Taylor said: “This is an exciting time for Preferred. We’ve experienced huge growth over the past few years and expect to increase our competitive advantage in the coming months.

“ We value our relationships with our intermediaries and will continue to provide them with added value through events such as the ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ seminars we’re currently running and our annual Quality Circle feedback sessions.”
