Police hold fire on apprentice court date

Farrell was arrested in August over an allegation relating to making a false representation via cheque or card.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: "Christopher Farrell has been further released on police bail to attend Charles Cross police station in Plymouth on December 8 pending a charging decision by the Crown Prosecution Service."

Farrell is still in the running to win The Apprentice, so far avoiding Sir Alan Sugar’s infamous words: “You’re fired.”

In September it was revealed that the Plymouth-based Farrell was sacked by his mortgage broker employer in August last year after working for them on a commission basis for just 10 months.

Police were subsequently called in to investigate several suspected cases of mortgage fraud.

Farrell has a previous conviction for possession of offensive weapons including a knuckleduster and extendable baton.
