PMP recieves MTA letter and appoints head of network

The network has announced the appointment of Martyn Bell as Head of Network. Bell (47) joins Professional Mortgage Partnerships with a background of over 25 years in financial services. His role will be to ensure that the network offers excellent products and service to cover the needs of all its appointed representatives plus continuing to offer support for directly authorised brokers.

Said Bell: “The MTA letter is an important first step on the road towards authorisation, but we are preparing, as should all networks, for a rigorous appraisal by the Financial Services Authority, which I am confident we will satisfy on all counts. I have worked for many years in a regulated environment and I am aiming to ensure that our network has the quality of systems and personnel to fulfil the most exacting standards.”

The network has recently appointed several experienced compliance officers, and is completing a programme of staff recruitment to its Darlington headquarters. More than 120 brokers have already been awarded interim letters of agreement for appointed representative status.

Bell commented: “The numbers of members already signed, and the daily level of applications, means that we should be one of the bigger players on November 1st. The level of business we will generate in mortgages and insurance products has enabled us to negotiate extremely favourable deals with providers.”

“The range of products and deals which we can offer, together with our highly competitive charging structure which includes PI cover, means that Professional Mortgage Partnerships should be one of the networks on any brokers list of potential Principals. But brokers need to make their mind up soon as time is running out.”
