Pink advisers raise £8,000 for Seven Families

Mark Graves, director of Pink, said: “What Seven Families has achieved is to really make insurance personal to both the client and the adviser.

“It brings home the harsh reality and responsibility that advisers hold in their hands to change people’s lives and give them hope.

“Advisers within the network chose to raise money after seeing the Seven Families videos, in particular Paul Pickford’s story, who had a stroke in his 40s, which shows that it can happen to anyone. You only have to open your eyes to see it.”

At Pink’s request the money will mainly be used to benefit the third family – the Pickford’s, whose emotional story struck a chord with the firm’s advisers.

Peter Le Beau, Seven Families spokesperson, said: “We are surprised and incredibly pleased by the generosity and thoughtfulness shown by the advisers from Pink. They saw the videos and decided to do something about it having been touched by the families and their stories.

“The monies raised will buy a specialist standing frame that will allow Paul to continue his progress with standing and building his strength. We are also working with Nikki Thornley's care teams to organise the purchase of the best equipment for her needs with any remaining funds.”

Seven Families is charity led campaign in association with Disability Rights UK to raise public awareness of the financial impact of long-term ill health or disability.
