Personal Finance Society announces its first president

Brian Steeples is a current PFS board member and past board member and past chairman of The Society of Financial Advisors (SOFA).

Steeples, who is an ACII and Fellow of the PFS, is managing director of Glasgow-based wealth management business The Turris Partnership. He is a past divisional director of Inter-Alliance and past joint managing director of Minet Consultancy Services.

The PFS President’s role will be to communicate the PFS message to members and also to represent members’ interests in the development of policy and services.

The PFS has been formed by the amalgamation of SOFA and the Life Insurance Association (LIA). The two organisations’ members were formally transferred to the PFS on 1 January this year.

Brian Steeples said: “In creating this new body we have a tremendous opportunity to further develop our sector’s professional standing. I am honoured to be the first PFS President.”

PFS chairman Bob Bullivant said: “Brian is a creative and innovative thinker with long experience of this industry and a passion to drive it forward. I have known him personally for several years and believe he will make an invaluable contribution to our development.”
