Paradigm adds Scottish Building Society to lender panel

Paradigm Mortgage Services has announced the addition of the Scottish Building Society to its lender panel, providing its member firms access to the mutual’s range of residential, entrepreneur, guarantor, and professional mortgages for both purchasers and remortgagors.

The building society has retirement interest-only (RIO) mortgages, as well as products for self-build and custom-build, plus holiday let products. It also offers a range of flexible underwriting with underwriters considering individual circumstances and complex cases that could be difficult to place. This includes mortgages with impaired credit history, and guarantor lending with interest-only an option.

For professional products, the lender offers flexible criteria, day one self-employed for doctors, solicitor partners, and those with varying cash flow.

Its entrepreneur range allows for one-year self-employed and one-year accounts, and net profit can be considered as usable income. The building society can also use the project end value to calculate LTV for remortgage and home improvements.

Also available are later life options, including lending via self-invested personal pension, RIO with standard lending to age 85, and no maximum term for RIO.

Applications can be submitted through Scottish Building Society’s online application portal.

“The Scottish mortgage and protection market is an increasingly important one for Paradigm,” Richard Howes, director of mortgages at Paradigm Mortgage Services, said. “We are therefore pleased to be able to announce the addition of Scottish Building Society to our panel, in response to member feedback.

“It is active in a wide range of product and sector areas and its’ flexible approach to underwriting means it can look at individual circumstances rather than operating a tick-box approach.”

Howes added that Paradigm will continue to work closely with member firms in Scotland to add value to their businesses across a wide range of areas, as well as to identify new opportunities.

“With Sarah Blackwood having recently strengthened our presence in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the North East, we are excited about working with both existing and new contacts within these regions to help them secure the most from their membership,” he stated.

Stephen Brown, head of intermediaries at Scottish Building Society, said they were delighted to partner with Paradigm Mortgage Services.

“We are known for our personal approach to service and flexible underwriting and look forward to helping members of Paradigm over the coming weeks and months,” Brown remarked. “We truly value the strong connections we have with our intermediary partners.”
