Opus creates new jobs

The company is to recruit sales, underwriting and sales support staff as it sets about the task of growing its business over the next 12 months. When the recruitment campaign is completed, the company will have doubled the size of its workforce.

“We have got some ambitious plans and at the heart of our growth strategy is a desire to find people who are self-starters and capable of thinking on their feet,” commented Lockhart Bruce, finance and marketing director of Opus. “We will need to take on at least 40 people over the next 12 months in order to meet the targets we have set ourselves. The campaign to find new people will begin almost immediately.”

Opus has set about repositioning itself as a deliverer of large-scale mortgage business to its panel of specialist mortgage lenders. Opus is currently one of the most well respected players in the market – but little is known about the company among consumers. “That’s all set to change,” said Lockhart Bruce. “We are soon to start a major relationship-building exercise directly with potential customers. The goal is to turn the Opus name into a household brand, that is trusted and respected nationally.”

Opus will kick-off its recruitment campaign within the next month. Work has already started on its city centre head office in Glasgow.
