Online self-service platform launched

HML claims the software will enable customers to view mortgage account details online like balance and last payment details, download commonly used forms, view FAQs and contact HML using secure messaging.

The new platform will be upgraded through 2011 to include an online payment facility.

Amber Homeloans will be the first of HML’s clients to use the new software.

Neil Warman, chief commercial and finance officer at HML, said: “We developed the product because we understand that our clients’ customers want to access their mortgage account in a number of ways and an online service is a convenience that many now consider mandatory.

“However, we would not expect our clients’ customers to have to visit their lender’s website and then be redirected to our website to do this, as consumers don’t know HML administers their mortgage. Our white-labelled service gives our clients a branded website that improves the service experience we provide to their customers.”

Paul Fenn, managing director of HML, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer our customers use of the new facility. Online banking has been available for many years so the mortgage industry following suit is a logical step.

“HML’s white-labelled service will be easy for us to integrate and will enhance our customers’ experience. This consideration was vital to us taking on the service.”
