One in four still undecided on regulation

This has revealed that:

37% intend to opt for appointed representative status

39% intend to be directly authorised

24% remain undecided

The survey further asked those firms opting for direct authorisation what assistance they were looking to help them with their compliance needs. The most popular answers were:

Assistance with the initial application process.

A comprehensive compliance support service leading up to Mortgage Day, and beyond.

Doug Hall, Head of Sales comments “With authorisation deadlines only months away, it is a concern that one in four firms surveyed are still undecided. What is also clear is that direct authorisation is certainly a viable option where firms are able to get support and assistance.”

He goes on to say, ‘These results have proved invaluable to us. We wanted to be sure that we were able to assist our members, irrespective of their chosen route to regulation. In particular, we wanted to identify whether our members would prefer to be directly authorised, and, if so, what services they would wish us to provide to support their choice or, for those that preferred to become Appointed Representatives, what networks they would like us to be in discussion with. As a result of this feedback we are now able concentrate on providing exactly what our members want.’
