NMSL appoints head of intermediary services

RON CARR APPOINTMENT STRENGTHENS NMSL

NMSL, a subsidiary of Newcastle Building Society, provides mortgage processing services for other financial service providers.

The appointment to this newly-created position follows a string of high profile partnerships signed by NMSL, including an agreement with Openwork.

Ron has considerable experience of the financial services sector and has worked in a wide range of departments within the Newcastle. Before joining NMSL he was head of branch sales for the Society.

Commenting on his new role, he said: “This year business has really taken off for NMSL and we now have an extremely strong client base. My job is to look after all our intermediary customers and to make sure our service is delivered as smoothly as possible on a day-to-day basis. In essence I’m the person the brokers who use NMSL can turn to with any questions.

NMSL offers a range of services around non-prime processing, including an online decision in principle facility and online tracking so the mortgage application process can be managed swiftly and easily. It can also white label websites for third party lenders, helping them strengthen their own service offering to borrowers.

Angus Macnaughton, managing director of NMSL, added: “Offering the Society’s core skill services, such as mortgage processing and website management, to third parties is a strategy which has met with overwhelming success. I am therefore delighted to welcome Ron to the team as we look forward to further growth. I’m sure his knowledge of the industry and the broker market will prove an enormous help.”

Away from work Ron enjoys keeping fit and is in training for the New York Marathon in November.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Newcastle Building Society, NMSL has the backing of the largest building society based in the North-East and one of the strongest mutuals in the UK.
