Nigel Stockton leaves Lloyds for Countrywide

Announcing the news, Grenville Turner, group chief executive of Countrywide, said: “Nigel brings a wealth of experience to this new role after nearly 20 years in the lending industry and will be using his expertise to help build on our position as the UK’s largest mortgage broker.

“I’m keen to ensure that we continue to build on the fantastic progress we’ve made in recent years to explore new ventures and opportunities, and Nigel will play an important role as part of our senior management team to drive the company’s future direction.”

Nigel added: “I'm thrilled to be joining Countrywide and seeing how I can develop new growth opportunities to make it even more successful.

“During my time in the industry I have always respected Countrywide for being dynamic, professional and forward-thinking.”

Nigel will join Countrywide on 1st October.

And he added: "It's always difficult to take the decision to leave. I've had a fabulous time working for Lloyds Banking Group, but I really feel that this is the right time to take on new challenges. I'm thrilled to be working with Grenville Turner again. I really wish Colin Walsh, Peter Curran and all of my former team all the very best."

Peter Curran, Lloyds Banking Group head of intermediaries, will be taking over Stockton's responsibilities in the interim.
