New CEO appointed by Financial Services Skills Council

Teresa has been working as Managing Director for the FSSC (formerly the Financial Services National Training Organisation) since November 2003, and was instrumental in developing the successful bid for a licence for the Skills Council from the Secretary of State for Education and Skills. The FSSC is now licensed by the UK government to work in partnership with employers and trade unions to provide strategic leadership for training, education and skills development for the financial services sector.

David Prosser, Group Chief Executive of Legal & General and Chair of the FSSC board, said: ‘We are delighted to announce the appointment of Teresa Sayers as Chief Executive. Teresa has led the FSSC team at a time of significant transition, and I look forward to working with her in dealing with the challenges that lie ahead.’

Teresa has held various roles in the FSSC in development including Director of Research and Development (April to November 2003) and Acting Chief Executive (May 2002 – April 2003). Prior to this, Teresa was Research Manager of the Insurance and Related Financial Services Training Organisation (September 1997 – November 2000), which merged with the Banks and Building Society National Training Organisation to become the Financial Services NTO. Teresa is a former Careers Officer for the Chartered Insurance Institute (September 1992-97) and has a BSc (Hons) in bio-technology.
