NatWest’s Carruthers joins Ulster Bank

Carruthers will be responsible for growing Ulster Bank’s share of the intermediary mortgage market in Northern Ireland, and will be supported by the Mortgage Intermediary Unit in Belfast.

Ulster Bank head of regional personal banking Paul Thompson said: “I’m delighted to welcome someone of Steve’s calibre and experience to Ulster Bank. His knowledge of the intermediary market will be invaluable in building our business.

“In March we launched a £500m fund for mortgage lending and we are determined to play our part in helping people in Northern Ireland get a mortgage that is right for them.”

Carruthers said: “I will be working with my team in the months ahead to ensure the intermediary sector is aware of Ulster Bank’s commitment to the needs of Northern Ireland’s mortgage market.”
