MX may fall at KFI hurdle

The specialist lender for Bradford & Bingley has written to all its brokers informing them that due to technical issues it may be unable to produce web-based KFI’s for a number of weeks after mortgage regulation begins.

Daniela Conte, head of media relations at Mortgage Express, explained that the lender hoped to maintain broker support by being honest about the problem. “Paper-based KFI’s will still be available,” she said.

Matthew Bright, managing director of Optoma, said: “I am surprised that they are the only lender to admit this. It points to the general lack of preparation by lenders.”
