Mortgages plc launches website charity page

The page will feature the activities being undertaken for charity by staff in its Glasgow and London offices, as well as regionally based staff.

Currently featured on the site is a charity skydive over Aberdeen, which is being undertaken by Graeme Lennox, introducer support consultant and Paul Black, product development executive. Anyone who wants to help their cause (Marie Curie Cancer Care) can donate money by visiting the Mortgages plc homepage and clicking on the charity button.

Also featured is a sponsored 10k run around Hyde Park being undertaken by Phillip Dabbs, an underwriter, to help London’s less advantaged children.

Julian Wells, head of marketing at Mortgages plc, said: “We’re always delighted when staff decide to support charitable activities. So far in 2006 Ann Wardrop, head of new business and Lucy Colley, management accountant, between them raised over £4000 by running in the London Marathon. Robert Faichnie, a completions officer, has also raised £500 by running in the Edinburgh Marathon. Last year we had our much published ‘Shrekathon’ when Pete Thomson raised nearly £20,000 for disabled children by attempting the London Marathon.

“Mortgages plc has a very active charitable donations policy and supports staff financially in their efforts. We also regularly hold fundraising events in the offices with all the proceeds donated to charity. If any introducers, intermediaries, business partners or other lenders would like to support a worthy cause, simply go to our website.”
