Mortgages plc expands team

The corporate development team is part of the sales function and focuses on networks, mortgage clubs and intermediary direct relationships. The team is headed up by Paul Fryers, head of corporate development, and operates over the telephone and on a regional basis.

The telephone based Intermediary Sales Centre (ISC) in Glasgow deals with incoming and outbound calls from and to intermediaries. They also manage sales enquiries in relation to Mortgages plc’s ‘On Demand’ online system. The team is run day-to-day by James Conroy and Amanda Houston, both of whom are ISC Managers and report to Fryers. Houston was recently promoted to this role, while Conroy was responsible for the original setting up of the original ISC team in Glasgow nearly five years ago.

The regional team is made up of three partnership managers. The partnership managers are responsible for relationships with networks and mortgage clubs on a corporate and intermediary level. They work closely with the regional sales team to help develop Mortgages plc’s business relationships with these firms. Angie Horley covers the North, with Jonathan Barrett responsible for the South West and West Midlands. Both were promoted from the regional sales team where they held area manager roles. The East Midlands and South East role is currently vacant.

Paul Fryers, head of corporate development, said: “The spectacular growth of Mortgages plc’s business volumes this year coupled with an increased focus in the market on intermediary direct, network and club business means this team has a key role to play at Mortgages plc. Our recent expansion into the buy to let market has opened up even more opportunities for us and we will be aiming to build and maintain relationships with all the key players in the market.”

Pete Thomson, sales director at Mortgages plc, added: “I’m particularly pleased to see that this team has been expanded primarily via internal promotions. We place a huge emphasis on training and development in our sales team and these individuals are now reaping the benefit.”
