The event will swing into action with the first regional qualifying event at Blackwell Golf Club on Friday 19 May.
A further four qualifiers will take place thereafter:
- Northern Qualifier – Prestbury Golf Club, 2 June
- Scottish Qualifier – Lanark Golf Club, 6 June
- Southern Qualifier – Brocket Hall, 26 June
- Jerez Qualifier – Mortgage Summit, Jerez, 23 June
The top four players from each regional qualifier will go forward to compete in the UK final which is being held at Brocket Hall on 3 July.
The top eight winners in the UK final will then qualify to compete in the grand final which takes place over three days in Spain in October.
Mortgages plc head of marketing, Julian Wells, said: “Once again we have teamed up with the PGA to host our annual golf challenge and, as in recent years, we have extended and enhanced the programme. Many of our key contacts are keen golfers and this is one of our most popular events each year. The event is based on an 18 hole stableford pairs competition, with the PGA being responsible for an independent pairings draw in advance of each event. This year the PGA will also be giving a briefing session before each event about recent changes to the rules of golf.
“We will be playing some stunning championship golf courses and we even have the Ryder Cup available for photo opportunities at the UK final. This is an invitation only event and has generated a fantastic amount of interest in 2006.”
