Mortgage broker zones in on the net

Broker-zone.net, the on-line information resource for mortgage brokers, went live last month.

Owned and designed by former mortgage broker Paul Rhodes, he told Mortgage Introducer he set the site up as there was nothing like it in the ten years he spent selling mortgages.

Rhodes, who has designed and currently hosts some 35 web sites, said: "I became interested in web design about 5 years whilst I was still running my brokerage, Mortgage Search.

"The idea behind broker-zone came as a result of wishing there had been something along those lines whilst I had been a broker. Not having found anything on the internet that was specifically for financial advisers, I decided to build the site."

The site took around four months from start to finish and has cost "time, a few web reference books" plus initial support from Personal Loans, The Decisive Lending Company, Integral Marketing, MCA finance, Direct Commercial Finance and The Mortgage Guild who all agreed pre launch to advertise on the site.

Rhodes added: "I hope to expand the site as time goes on to include more adviser related items and useful information for brokers."

The site went live on Monday 14 August.
