More pass CII exams

The latest exam results also saw 577 pass the Mortgage Advice Qualification (MAQ) to take the total number of those completing the qualification to 18000.

CII qualifications director Lucy Courtenay said: “Exams have a vital role to play in improving the standards of financial advice and it is important that advisers carry on with their studies. I welcome the confirmation from the FSA and the Financial Services Skills Council that advisers should continue to take the existing exams while the exam review is in progress”.

The CII unveiled details of its proposed new financial planning qualifications framework in February. It is currently consulting with its leading customers to get their feedback on the detail of the framework and in particular how the ‘advice skills’ aspects should be examined.
