Mint marketing manager raises £1.5k for Mind

Stephen Cunningham (pictured), marketing manager at Mint Property Finance, has run the Liverpool Marathon in aid of the mental health charity Mind, raising £1,500 through colleagues.

Cunningham took on the 26-mile challenge in memory of his late brother.

This is one of a number of fundraising challenges he has undertaken in support of mental health-focused charities over the last three years.

Mint Property Finance made Mind the business’s charity of the month, pledging a further £850.

As part of the business’ corporate and social responsibility (CSR) programme, it has pledged £850 every month in aid of a charity close to the team’s heart.

Over the past 11 months, the specialist finance lender has donated over £10,000 to causes including Cash for Kids, The Christie Charitable Fund, The RSPCA, and Cancer Research UK.

This month, the business is supporting the charity Cash for Kids, with many of the team pledging to donate blood for NHS Blood and Transplant in the New Year.

Cunningham said: “Mind is a charity very close to my heart due to the amazing work they do to support those suffering from mental health illnesses and aiding in removing the stigma around them.

"I’m very grateful for the support of my colleagues and Mint as a business, both emotionally and through their sponsorship of my marathon.

"It really is a people-first organisation that I'm proud to be a part of.”

Andrew Lazare, founder and managing director of Mint Property Finance, added: “As a business and a team of individuals, charity is incredibly important to us.

"It’s why we committed to making our annual charity programme employee run – our team get to choose the fundraising activity we will undertake together every month as well as the charity to which we as a business will support. Its just one of the many ways in which we unite inside and outside of work.

“When we learnt of Stephen’s fundraising challenge and his personal commitment to supporting mental health charity Mind, we were keen to show our support.

"It’s our pleasure to get behind both him and Mind, who deliver such valuable work.”
