Mike Rowell joins National Australia Bank’s intermediary team

Mike, who commences in his new role later this month, will be responsible for growing partnerships with brokers in the north east of England.

Mike has over twenty years experience in the mortgage industry. He joins from Standard Life Bank where he most recently held the position of account manager and was responsible for developing IFA and mortgage broker relationships in the north east of England. Prior to Standard Life, Mike worked for Verso and the West Bromwich Building Society in similar business development manager roles.

Commenting on the new appointment, Dean Cutbill, general manager of third party distribution at the National said: “Mike’s experience and knowledge of the industry will be hugely valuable to the National’s mortgage intermediary market team. Over the past six months our business has grown significantly and bringing Mike on board strengthens our presence in the north of the country.

“The mortgage intermediary market is one of the National’s key growth platforms in the UK and Mike’s appointment reinforces our commitment to expanding in this market. Recruiting high quality relationship managers is central to the success of our growth plans.”

The National currently has partnerships with over 200 selected mortgage brokers across the UK, and is continuing to develop its capabilities in the mortgage intermediary market. Mortgages are branded under the Clydesdale Bank brand, which is one of the National’s banking franchises in the United Kingdom.
