Marlborough Stirling appoints new chief executive

Huw Evans will revert to his previous role of Chairman.

Mr O’Leary, 51, will bring to Marlborough Stirling significant board level and public company experience gained in a career spanning 26 years, primarily in the software industry.

Mr O’Leary served on the board of Misys plc between 1986 and 2000 during which time he held chief executive responsibility for its Financial Services Division (1990-1997) and U.S. Healthcare Division (1998-2000). Since leaving Misys he has worked with a number of private equity backed companies in the financial services software sector.

Huw Evans, Chairman of Marlborough Stirling, commented:

“We are delighted that Mike O’Leary is joining Marlborough Stirling as our new chief executive. The combination of excellent operational management skills, knowledge of the financial services industry and plc Board experience makes Mike the ideal candidate to lead the next phase of Marlborough Stirling’s development.

Mike will build on the progress made in 2003 and provide the leadership and management focus to ensure we continue to play a leading role in the transformation of the financial services industry.”
