Malone immortalised at Warwick 14:50 - today!

As part of Malone’s retirement season (again) a number of industry heavyweights have clubbed together to sponsor the today's 2:50 at Warwick in his honour.

The newly christened John Malone Godfather of Mortgages Retirement Handicap Hurdle has five runners with the winner scooping a prize of £6,498.

If you fancy a flutter we’ve included Sportinglife.com’s verdict on today’s race:

“TIDAL DANCE was an expensive failure when an early faller here on his reappearance but made no mistake back in novice company at Towcester on Sunday. That was an above-average contest and we fancy Venetia Williams' top weight to defy his penalty in this ahead of Newcastle scorer Big Society, another carrying a penalty, and Kris Spin. His Chepstow scorer, Sausalito Sunrise, has won off a 9lb higher mark at Haydock since so Richard Lee's charge may not be badly treated. Dreams Of Milan is back over hurdles after falling over fences last time but this may be too tough for Mistral Reine and veteran Round The Horn.”

With Cheltenham veteran Malone’s pedigree as a horse racing aficionado, picking the winner should prove to be barley a challenge.

However with the number of industry figures at the Warwick meeting today it shouldn’t prove too hard to reign him in if he gets carried away.
