Specialist lender Together has announced the appointment of Maeve Ward (pictured) as its new intermediary project manager.

Bringing over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Ward will offer strategic support to the lender, which aims to expand its operations throughout the UK.

Ward will act as Together’s representative in Wales, collaborating with directors to review strategic growth plans. Additionally, she will assist brokers and colleagues by leading group training sessions, lender days, and participating in media and regional events. She will report to Tanya Elmaz, director of intermediary sales at Together.

“I’ve known Together for a long, long time and our paths have crossed many times while I’ve worked for competitors,” Ward said. “There was a part of me that hoped I would end up working here, it was just a case of when was the right time. I’ve been impressed with all aspects of Together – the heritage, the product suite, and the huge potential and desire for further growth with its intermediary partners.

“I’m excited that I’ll be part of pushing the brand forward at a time when there is an appetite to support mortgage and second charge projects and really looking forward to working with our broker partners to understand future opportunities for growth. Together has aspirational plans to increase its lending and it’s fantastic to have been brought into this new role – it just feels like coming home.”

Having started her career at First National Bank and holding subsequent positions at GE Money and Link Lending, Ward moved to Shawbrook Bank in 2010. There, she spent nearly a decade progressing through several roles, including national account manager and sales and operations director, before ultimately becoming managing director of the bank’s residential mortgages team. Prior to her current appointment, Ward was the director of commercial operations at Central Trust and Mercantile Trust.

Meanwhile, Elmaz expressed confidence in Ward’s capabilities, highlighting her extensive experience and deep knowledge of the regulated specialist market.

The appointment of Ward contributes to the fact that women now comprise 71% of the intermediary senior leadership team at Together.

“Attracting the best talent in the market is key to the success of Together,” Elmaz said. “Maeve’s natural aptitude for products and sales, as well as her tenacious work ethic, will make her a welcome addition to our well-established intermediary sales channel.”
