LIA holds post-'Mortgage Day' workshops across the UK

The workshops will be held in 31 locations across the UK throughout November and December.

For anyone involved in the provision of mortgage advice, attending these workshops will prove invaluable, giving advisers the knowledge they require to continue working in the newly regulated environment. The workshops, led by qualified and experienced mortgage professionals, will cover the following areas:-

- The significant changes to the mortgage sales process following regulation.

- An understanding of the rules regarding ‘suitability’.

- The two key documents used in the new sales process; the Initial Disclosure Document and the Key Facts Illustration.

- Selecting the most appropriate method of producing a Key Facts Illustration, and understanding the accuracy requirements and potential liability that apply to them.

- Understanding the requirements placed on a firm that wishes to describe itself as ‘independent’, and the implications this has on the use of panels.

- Awareness of the rules regarding cold-calling and lead generation.

The workshops are free to LIA members and cost £60 to non-members, although this can be offset against the cost of joining the LIA which is currently £117. Those wishing to attend one of the workshops should call the LIA on 0845 1668428, or visit the LIA website at www.lia.co.uk
