Best innovation award went to Exeter Family Friendly for their Health Choices for Me product.

Nick Jones, brand and marketing manager at Exeter, explained that the success of the plan was down to its principles of simplicity and engaging with its customers.

He said: “The product was built as a direct result of not just asking brokers what they want but collaboratively working with them through the process, they are closer to the customer than we are so why would we do anything different.”

Stonehaven won best equity release provider and best critical illness provider went to Friends Life.

LV= fought off the competition to win best income protection provider.

Head of protection at LV= Mark Jones said he was “delighted” to win the Moneyfacts award.

He said: “Income protection products are key to safeguarding people’s income and we will continue to invest in our proposition to ensure we offer the best experience and service possible for advisers and their clients.”
