LeadPoint starts liquidation proceedings

LeadPoint was founded in 2005 and provided leads for firms across North America and Europe, including several Fortune 500 companies.

In January LeadPoint UK founder and managing director Nick Chapman left the firm after seven years having said it was “time for a new challenge”.

Toby Hughes, chief executive officer of blue speck media, one of the UK’s leading companies in the digital marketing sector, said it was a sad day for the market.

He said: “It’s desperately sad to see LeadPoint enter insolvency. Ultimately I think the business model of lead generation firms has been coming under pressure for a while.

“As firms have come to understand the digital market place better middle men have started to find themselves circumvented and replaced.

“The model has been under pressure for a very long time and lead generators have to look at ways to innovate if they want to survive.”

Initially launching in mortgages and loans in the UK, LeadPoint was trading in over 20 products and supplied over 5,000 leads per day to a range of companies from SMEs to national brands at its peak .
