Classic and The Exchange team up

Classic Network Solutions Ltd has announced that The Exchange is to support its mortgage advisers in the sale of protection products.

The Exchange Exweb Broker portal will replace the outgoing Webline portal in providing protection deals. Classic hopes to acquire 100 Exweb broker licences within six months in line with the planned expansion of the company.

Mortgage Business Expo dates announced

Mortgage Business Expo will take place on 16 and 17 November this year at Earls Court 2 in London.

Sponsored by Bank of Scotland, Mortgage Business Expo London will bring together over 200 lenders, networks, clubs and senior decision-makers in one venue, all focusing on the needs of the intermediary.

£20 million ‘wasted’ by not remortgaging

Research from Abbey has revealed that up to £20 million a month could be wasted by not remortgaging.

The research showed that over 800,000 people are currently coming to the end of their mortgage deal or have finished their term but indicated that only 15 per cent of these are actively searching for the best mortgage deal.

Changes at Preferred

Specialist lender Preferred has made changes to its business following its second round of Quality Circle feedback sessions. Implemented changes include shortened KFIs, individual support throughout the KFI application and an introduction of an IT helpdesk for any specific support.

Preferred has also announced it is currently piloting a new KFI interface and a new fund release process.

Optoma announces management reshuffle

Optoma Broker Solutions has announced a re-organisation that will see chairman and chief executive Andrew Seymour and operations director Harpal Singh assume overall management of the business.

Managing director Matthew Bright has left Optoma to pursue new opportunities. Coinciding with the executive reshuffle, Optoma has appointed three new BDMs and has opened a new office in Nottinghamshire to manage its business in the North.
