Linden Homes has highlighted the increasing trend of friends buying homes together to get onto the property ladder.

Linden has seen a 25 per cent increase in the number of first-time buyers (FTBs) joining with friends or siblings to buy over the last 12 months.

Scarborough launches into specialist market

Scarborough Building Society is to launch a specialist lending brand offering niche products ranging from prime to adverse.

The range will also include specialist buy-to-let products.

Chief executive at Scarborough, John Carrier, said: “The new subsidiary is being launched in response to the social and demographic changes currently underway in the UK, where personal debt and customers with imperfect credit are becoming more common.”
