The British Bankers' Association (BBA) has announced its autumn/winter conference programme.

Money laundering, fraud, banking supervision and self regulation of the banking sector are some of the areas to covered in the programme, which starts on 10 October.

The line up of speakers includes Charlie McCreevy, european commissioner for Internal Markets and Services; The Rt Hon Ian McCartney MP, Minister of State, Department of Trade and Industry; and Sir Stephen Lander KCB, chairman, Serious Organised Crime Agency.

Knight launches promotional campaign

Knight Funding has announced a £500 promotion on secured loans completions.

Knight will pay an extra £500 in addition to the normal proc fee to any broker that submits two secured loan cases in any one month up to 31 December 2006, together with an further £500 if a third case is submitted in the same month. The bonus payments are made only when the cases have completed. The offer applies to selected secured loan lenders and brokers should check by telephone before submittting applications.

GMAC completes sale

GMAC-RFC has confirmed the sale of its eleventh portfolio to Britannia Treasury Services for £260 million.

This deal comprises of a blended pool of prime, buy-to-let and self-cert products.

Craig Beresford, director of asset sales at GMAC-RFC, said: “Our 'create and trade' strategy is built on strong relationships at both ends of the business model, which in turn contribute to the growing maturity of the secondary trading sector as a whole.”
