For example, Risk, Regulation & Compliance courses include preparing for an FSA arrow visit, understanding TCF, assessing credit and risk management.

Leadership and Management Development courses include topics such as team building, appraisals, improving business efficiency, mastering financial accounts, management skills in budgeting and forecasting and time management courses.

The Executive Education programmes cover topics ranging from managing organisational change, assertiveness and crisis management to financial service regulation for non-executive directors.

Lorraine Lea, Head of Executive Education at the ifs School of Finance said,

"Given the current troubles in the global economy it is becoming increasingly important that staff at all levels gain new skills, polish existing ones and generally commit to developing themselves and others.

It is no coincidence that the financial services companies who have best weathered the current storm are mostly those who have made the biggest investments in staff development and training."

The large number of new training courses being offered by the ifs School of Finance represents the most expansive programme of professional advancement classes in the UK financial services sector. As Lea concluded, "...there really is something for everyone from front office to back office, new entrant to senior executive. We believe there is no better way to achieve cost effective continuing professional development that delivers real results."
