HIPS not to blame for shortage of stock

“We believe there are no grounds to suggest that HIPs are in any way responsible for a drop in new property instructions. Any shortage of stock must a consequence of much greater economic and market forces and to beleaguered consumer confidence.

“In depth research from one of our members following the changes to First Day Marketing legislation on 6th April conclusively shows that HIPs are not a deterrent to selling a home, with 100% of vendors stating that the need to obtain a pack did not influence their decision to sell.

“The introduction of the Property Information Questionnaire (PIQ) has also met with a positive reaction from consumers. Sellers have found the new document user friendly and simple to complete, with 96% completing the form in less than 30 minutes and 98% claiming that it was straightforward or very straightforward to complete.”
