HBOS announces appointments to business-to-business division

Led by chief executive, Grenville Turner, the division brings together all intermediary and partnership businesses from the Retail and Investment and Insurance divisions into one area.

Grenville Turner, chief executive, HBOS business-to-business division, said, “These key appointments reflect the importance of the intermediary market and our commitment to continually improve our proposition. Through these dedicated roles we can continue to improve our service and strengthen relationships with our introducers.”

Nick Robinson, managing director of Intelligent Finance, will take additional responsibility for business-to-business strategy. He will work closely with Grenville Turner to identify new market opportunities and to help map the direction of the division. Nick will also join the Retail Management Board.

Nigel Stockton, will assume the position of managing director of HBOS Intermediary Mortgages. He will take overall responsibility for co-ordinating activity across the HBOS mortgage intermediary brands and assumes responsibility for Halifax Intermediaries, Bank of Scotland Mortgages and The Mortgage Business. Nigel also retains his existing responsibilities with Birmingham Midshires.

Tim Hague will take responsibility as Director of BM Solutions and Alan Cleary will become Director of Halifax Intermediaries. Commenting on these appointments Stockton said: "These appointments really show the strength of the HBOS team. It is wonderful to reward Alan following his excellent job as Head of Sales for BM Solutions, I've no doubt he will lead Halifax well. Tim also has a wealth of experience and will drive BM Solutions to the next phase"

Michael Bolton, currently managing director of BM Solutions and Halifax Intermediaries, has been appointed as head of HBOS Specialist Lending. Over the last three years Michael has established BM Solutions as the UK’s number one specialist lender and a five star service provider. He will take responsibility for developing HBOS Specialist Lending propositions and ensuring that HBOS maintains its position in this marketplace. Grenville Turner commented "Michael has done a fantastic job at BM and with his market knowledge I cannot think of a better individual to now lead our product development work internally".

John Hiew, managing director, Clerical Medical Financial Services, retains responsibility for Clerical Medical’s intermediary distribution and will work closely with the intermediary brands to build on Clerical Medical’s market leading introducer proposition. John will also assume responsibility for HBOS’ employee share services business.

Peter Thompson will become managing director of Partnerships, GI and Retail. The new structure will enable the General Insurance (GI) team to build further on their introducer proposition and to maximise sales of GI through UK mortgage intermediaries.
